We think Ruby has to be our fastest rehoming of a dog to date, This girl was 7 months old and saved off Gumtree but unfortunately the rescuer could not keep her (as much as she wanted to) so she made her way here. We like to take our dogs on a walk when they get to us so that’s what she did and whilst this was happening a lovely couple had come up with their dog looking for companion for him as they had just lost one, after discussions and interactions with the other dogs we had agreed that the dogs we had would not work, that is until Ruby walked down the drive from her walk still very nervous and unsure saw their dog, it was like she was a different dog that had this great chemistry and from that point it was clear she was going home with them.

A early Christmas present indeed.
How do we even start to begin about Tinsel, This poor boy has been with us for a whole year and when he arrived with us he was one of our most scared cats who didn’t like any humans. It took us a long time to even get close enough to get a sniff off him but slowly he began to trust us but what wasn’t without a couple of hisses and spits. We now fast forward to the present day were we posted about Tinsel being here for a year and we get flooded with requests to rehome him which was very overwhelming as we all loved him but it was one lovely lady who came up that wanted him straight away and just wanted to give him that forever home he so deserved.

Sometimes some of our poor cats get looked over therefore they stay with us for a long period of time and this was what had happened to Berney, so we felt it was right he had a foster so that he at least can get that one to one time and the comfort of his home and not be in the cattery. We have a couple of cats we would like to be fostered like Berney and with fostering we will pay for any vets if they occur, We just want these mis-understood furry felines to have that comfort of a warm, safe home.

Roo really was one of our most affectionate dogs, he just loved being around people and other dogs being a sweet cheeky boy who knew how to melt your heart with just a look. He has now found his forever home with a lovely gentleman who just loved his cheeky side.
Raine was honestly one of the sweetest and easiest dogs we have had in a while and when this lovely couple came up to see her the bond was clear straight away and it was like they were already family. Unfortunately we lost our free feature in the local paper so we have started to put posters up in the local shops and it was in fact Coop were this couple saw her and funnily enough Raine and Roo (another lurcher she came in with) were known as the Coop dogs as everyone recognised them from the posters.
Smokey has found her forever home with a lovely couple who felt ready to take on a rescue cat after losing their cat a few months back. They found us at Herne bay memorial park boot fair which we attend on a monthly basis and sell a range of animal cages, beds and pet accessories. For ever sale the money goes back into the centre which helps us to care for all the animals.
Red loved her play time in the pond area and it was at this time some customers from the spa noticed her and from that they wanted to do a 48 hour trial with her, After the trial it was very clear they loved her and wanted to give her the forever home she deserved. She was a beautiful girl with the kindest, loving heart a dog could have and considering when she came in nervous and with scars from her past she has transformed in the best companion anyone could ask for. A deserving home for a deserving girl.
Sticking with the Friends theme we called this girl Monica, Monica came to us from a home with 11 other cats which included Rachel below. She was a lovely affectionate girl who was just a all round sweet thing and so we are very happy she has found her forever home.
Febe was a lovely girl that loved the affectionate but in the cattery life she was one of the hiding types and only came out to eat, but when a certain little girl came to view the cats with her Mum Febe came out of hiding and instantly bonded with the girl and it was then we all knew she was the one to take home.
Rachel was 1 of 12 cats who was rescued from a home were they weren’t being treated the best so we helped by taking Rachel on and being only a year and a half we wanted to make sure she was going to have the best forever home. The lovely Cassie felt a bit lost when she came to us being that she’s a shepherd cross breed she needed that someone to love and have a companion so we are very happy she has found her forever home and be lost no more.
Now Reggie more rolled through our doors than walked. There was no doubt that this EBTxSBT was carrying a few extra pounds and our exercise regime certainly put him through his paces! We regularly had a passed out puddle of pooch to step over to get into the office. His heart matched his waistline and everyone fell in love with him. Formally known as Diesel we though he needed a new name to go alongside a new home, and with us having an EBTxSBT as part of our resident gang called Ronnie, Reggie really was the only name for him. The most amazing turn of events occurred and he has been rehomed within the “Tree Tops Family” and if you are lucky you may spot Ronnie and Reggie strutting their stuff down a high-street near you.
Another little Jack Russell made it’s way to us after it’s owners found themselves homeless. The imaginatively name Jack, was with us less than 24 hours before he found himself out on a trial with potential new owners. With having such a sweet nature all went remarkable well and he has been adopted. He has a ready made playmate in his new home, but Troy is not too keen on the tennis ball stealing that has started since Jack’s arrival. What a cheeky chappie!
Now we love animals, all of them. Big, small, furry, feather, 4 legs, 2 legs, hoofs, paws and everything in between. But Izzy had so much love to give we couldn’t help but reciprocate. This tiny little lady, and we mean tiny, weighed in at just 4.4 kilos and was not in the best condition. She arrived scratching, skinny and her fur patchy at best. Despite all of this she had a loving nature and was a fab dog. We were hardly surprised when we found a home for her very quickly, a pretty good thing really as we couldn’t bring ourselves to put her in the kennel at night and she was sleeping indoors. Little Izzy has landed on all four paws with a lovely new owner and Staffie brother already in situ!
Rexy and Scamp were inseparable. They shared a kennel, they shared a bed, they shared their walks and they shared their huge hearts with us. Finding a home for two dogs to go to together is always a difficult task but we are never shy of a bit of hard work. These two found their forever home with one of our volunteers,, they have been renamed Remus and Severus, and really are going to spend the rest of their days happily ever after!

The beautiful China came to us as a stray and at only 1 years old she was as bouncy as anything and she just loved the attention and loved her walks, she even got herself a little boyfriend. she has now been rehomed with a lovely lady who already had a golden retriever pup that want to find him a best friend to play with which is exactly what happened and now you cant separate them.
Miley was a gorgeous boy who unfortunately came back to us after some complications with housing but he has now found a new home that we hope will now be his forever home.
Luca’s story was a tough one, even by our standards! He had been pulled off the streets abroad, meaning his first experience of humans would have been a tough one. He was then brought over to the UK and placed in a home. However after a year this home not longer worked as his owner had to increase his work hours. When he arrived with us everything was scary, leads, people and even the birds at times. Slowly but surely we won his trust and then it was cuddles all round. Luca’s first introduction to new people was always going to have to be a gradual one but when after 10 minutes he was laying at the feet of his prospective new owners we knew that Luca had chosen them. A really heart-warming happily ever after!
Sammie arrived in whirlwind of fluff and German Shep cuddles. Nervous at first she soo came round and had us all twisted round her paw. She is one of those dogs who has left a paw print on all of our hearts and we were sad to see her leave. But she is not far away and we should see her often, which makes the heart ache a little more bearable. Well done Sammi!
We were worried that when we rehomed Terry, Bek would get lonely as he had become attached to him. But to our joy Bek was rehomed only 30 minutes after to a lovely family, so was not even given enough time to miss Terry.
Terry was a lovely boy who loved affection. He was rehomed with a lady that clearly loved her animals and we know will give Terry the best life.
We rehome a lot of dogs with all sorts of stories when they leave us for their forever home, but one story that has topped them all is this one about Primrose. Primrose was found as a stray. She was seen wandering the fields looking lost when she came across some girls who were doing their Duke of Edinburgh award. She straight away connected with these girls so much so she wouldn’t leave them alone. The girls checked to see if she had a collar but no luck, so they checked the local houses to see if she was anybody’s but again no luck. The girls in the end had to carry on with their walk and Primrose followed them for the next 20 miles of their journey. Obviously having becoming attached to Primrose they couldn’t leave her so they sought the assistance of another rescue. Primrose served out her 7 days and remained unclaimed so was available for rehoming. Primrose eventually made her way to us and the girls parents got in contact. So a date was set and mum and dad arrived, and like the girls fell in love with Primrose straight away. Off she went, unbeknownst to the girls, to a trial in her new home. We have been informed that Primrose recognised the girls straight away and it was cuddles all round. Well it really doesn’t need to a said but Primrose found her happily ever after with them and has slotted into the family like she has always been there!
Max was a lovely boy who knew what he liked and he liked his walks just plodding along quite happily with the rest of our dogs. He has since found his forever home with a lovely couple who we could clearly see was loved by Max.
Sherwin was a super handsome, super affectionate tabby cat. He had arrived with us as his owner went into a care home and couldn’t take him with her. Sherwin settled in really easily and was one of the lucky ones to find his forever home really quick.
Yoda was a sweet thing who arrived with her sister Kedi. The two soon showed their independent characters meaning we knew rehoming them separately would not be an issue. Poor Yoda ended up spending her 9th birthday with us on the 4th of April but shortly afterwards found her forever home.
Sophie was a real heart melter of a dog, she found herself being restricted to a crate for excessive periods of time with barely any contact. She had lost weight and had some sores from being on hard surfaces for too long. Nothing that some tlc and some decent meals didn’t fix. None of this had affected this gorgeous girls zest for life and desire for cuddles. She learnt quickly on the lead and loved her food and has now found her loving forever home.
It’s not every day we get to write a story about reuniting a pet with its owners. Toffee, the abandoned rabbit, we now know was stolen from a garden, and then dumped. His real name is Thumpy, and he was noticed on Facebook by a family searching for their little girl’s friend. As soon as they saw him, you could tell he was theirs. So now, we’re very happy to say that Thumpy will be very happy in his old home!
Dec was a lovely boy who came to us with his friend Ant. Both were very shy of the cattery at first, but really warmed up to everybody, and showed off a gorgeous, loving personality. He has now found a lovely home with plenty of roaming space, and a great new couple to belong to.
Jack’s little face melted our hearts the moment we met him. Being 14 he was used to a particular routine and we were concerned as to how he would settle into life at Tree Tops. Jack soon found his feet and enjoyed a potter out with the rest of the rescue dogs. Given his age we were worried that we would struggle to rehome Jack as he is uninsurable. Jack has found a wonderful home where even the neighbours spoil him rotten and with our back up for any major medical treatment he may need we know that he will be a happy and well cared for chappy!
Ant was a handsome black and white chap that came to us as his owner was no longer able to look after her cats. Ant found the first few days in the cattery a bit tough but soon came out of his shell to show his true affectionate personality. Once that happened we knew it would only be a matter of time before he found his forever home.
Tito came to us after finding himself stuck in a rut. The rescue centre he was at was really struggling to rehome him and as soon as we saw this gorgeous little face staring up at us we knew we could do it. Tito had a lovely personality and knowing he was good with children meant that the pawfect home could not be too far away, and that is just what he found. Finally a family to call his own.
This lovely, affectionate girl has gone to a lovely new home. After being dumped at the end of our drive in the pouring rain, and rescued by one of our volunteers, Chancey soon became a firm favourite in the cattery. Her loving new family have had cats before, and Chancey has been given her second chance.
Badger and Travis arrived with us after their owner became seriously ill. These two promptly set about making themselves at home and stealing our hearts. At 11 and 13 we were unsure whether we would find these golden oldies a forever home and even considered rehoming them separately to make this more likely. We needn’t have worried, these two have landed on there fluffy paws and have found that perfect home to see out their years!
No picture we took of Angelo could do him justice. He was an adorable ball of fluff who had spent two years being fed as a stray. The decision was made that it was time for him to come out of the cold and into the cattery he came. Angelo has landed himself his forever home, but with a face like that who could really resist!
Tilly had little heart of gold and was a character as well. This little lady got snapped up fairly quickly after arriving with us. Tilly was rescued from a breeder and given a second chance at happiness. She has landed on her feet with a family who loved her the minute they met her. That was a trial we could guarantee would be a success!
New owners: Tilly (now known as Maggie) has settled in well. She is very much part of the family and we love her very much regardless of her boundless energy. She defends us against the ‘ferocious’ birds outside, loves other dogs and loves her walks on the slopes. As she is still an adolescent she goes to doggy school once a week and has homework in between which we all support her with. She is a fast learner and we are v proud of her!
Our lovely boy Alfie wasn’t here for long before he won the hearts of his brand new family. This gorgeous little boy will be very well looked after by his new people, and we know his anxiety problems can only improve with time and love. We wish Alfie and his new owners all the best.
Tiny by name, tiny by size but by no means a tiny character. This poor girl had a hard start to life being breed none stop until her last litter there was a complication and had a pup stuck leading her having to be spayed which meant she was no longer wanted, taking the good out of a bad situation she found her way here and was a hit and wanted by everyone and so she finally found her loving forever home.
May found herself in the pound and despite her owners knowing her whereabouts they did not come forward leaving May’s future in question. We took her in and it was clear from the outset that she had had a tough time and was very nervous. May didn’t know how to play, she didn’t know what cuddles were and having a ball thrown for her was a scary thing. We all fell in love with May and she soon learnt to trust us. May found a loving home where she no longer has anything to fear.
This gorgeous girl was Jess and she came in with Rocky, she didn’t warm to the cattery as quickly as Rocky but she was so affectionate even though she was very nervous and because of that she found her forever home.
Rocky was a lovely boy who took to the cattery environment straight away, he walked around happily checking the place out and came up for cuddles all the time. we are very happy this boy found his forever home.
The seriously handsome Norman has found himself a pawfect home! Norman arrived too scared to even go on a walk. With the hard work, perseverance and dedication of everyone here at Tree Tops he was soon out trotting along next to us. Norman’s new home has experience with Lurchers with someone there all the time. Just what Norman needs to build his confidence.
Alice found her way to us after being found hopping around on her own. This lovely little lop eared Albino was both deaf and blind. She has found a home with another bunny who was getting lonely being on her won. These two have teamed up and are helping each other our. A true happily ever after moment.
Now India was an exotic looking cat. She arrived with us along with her kittens whose future became uncertain after they were dumped in a vets. India was a petite, very pretty girl and she soon found her way to a loving home with one of our volunteers.

Jack the one eyed chap in this picture found his way to us after being picked up as a stray. Suffering from entropion, a genetic deformity meaning the eyelashes scrap against the eye, causing pain, irritation and eventually blindness. The decision was made by the vets to remove the eye and Jack made his way to us. 24 hours later Jack went home with one of staff and as you can see has fitted right in to the resident clowder already in the home.
The lovely lady Binky has found herself her forever home once more. We rehomed Binky some time ago and unfortunately her owner passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. Once more Binky found herself with no-one to love and nowhere to call home. Well she has once again landed on those pretty paws.
Fifi was a lovely, timid girl who came into the cattery after being locked up in a chicken coop with no interaction or exercise. She was so nervous when she was here, it was taking her some time to bond with people. Once she let you in and trusted you, she was a lovely girl. She has now found a great new home where she will be well cared for and given the love she needs to continue to grow into an affectionate cat.
Our bouncy boy Ollie was well overdue a loving home to settle into and call his own. It was looking like he may’ve had to settle in here for good, but luck was in his favour. A lovely lady came up to see him, and it was as if he had chosen her – they bonded instantly! His playful nature won his new family over, and he now has another ball-obsessed Jack Russell to play with, and we wish them all the best.

Smudge was a lovely playful cat and always liked to be paid attention whenever she could get some and we are so glad she has found her forever home with Merrie.
Pippa was a lovely girl who loved the attention and a cuddle, with some issues that came up we decided a home on her own was the best option and she has since gone to a lovely couple who fell in love with her instantly.
Sammie was with us for a while and coming in as a stray she was very scared and nervous of everything but in time Sammie slowly started coming out her shell but still nervous. She has since now been rehomed and she couldn’t of gone to a nicer couple who are willing to work with her and we su
re Sammie will become the perfect companion.
Stig was a gorgeous boy who was timid at first but in time he should real affection and became a lap cat in no time and we are so glad he has a forever home
Drew was a instant hit here at treetops and although shy at first it didn’t take him long to come out his shell and show us who he really was and that was an affectionate boy who just loved the attention he received. we were sad to see him go for our own selfish reasons but of course so happy he found his forever home.
So this unlikely trio really landed on their paws, finding themselves a home together.Daz was picked up as a strayin a laundrette, hence the name. Ging was an older cat who we thought would be tough to find a home for. Gayle was a character all of her own. She has suffered an injury as a kitten and would snort instead of purr. A really sweet happily ever after for these three.
Jed was a lovely old boy who just loved to be around people and be given a cuddle, loved a walk and quite happily just plod along side you. he has now found his forever home and we couldn’t be more please
This gorgeous bundle of fluff arrived with her companion but it soon became evident that their personalities meant that they would be quite happy on their own. Georgia was an affectionate girl and getting any picture of her was hard going, she just wanted to snuggle. She has found herself a well deserved forever home.
Biggie arrived in a whirlwind of Staffie kisses and cheekiness and soon proved a hit with all of us here at Tree Tops. His naughty grin and mischievous nature soon had us all laughing in the way that you laugh at a toddler. Any paperwork we did, did not leave the office without Biggie’s seal of approval pawprint, and heaven forbid you should leave that yummy cake or biscuit in the office that you were saving for lunch! Biggie was wonderful to walk, loved to play ball and was partial to not letting you get any work done, but to be fair who could resist that face. Biggie arrived a nervous and anxious boy who wanted to be around everyone. One of his finer tricks was stealing the socks from the baby who comes up to rescue centre a few times a week. He would not wait for them to drop to the floor, he would careful and precisely remove it from the baby and dash off in excitement and pride at his achievement. Needless to say he was one of those dogs who we will all miss greatly. He stole our heart piece by piece but we were all quite happy to give it to him. He now has found somewhere to call home, with people who understand him and fell in love with him immediately. So much so that they cancelled their weekend away to ensure that Biggie could go on trial with them as soon as possible. Now that is what we call dedication!
Pluto and Saturn (the lazy boy in bed!) came to us after their owner could no longer care for her animals. Both very affectionate boys, with Saturn being a lot sillier than his friend, it’s hardly surprising they weren’t with us for long. Both have been rehomed and we wish them all the luck on the planet!
Tinker was well overdue a home, so we’re so happy that he’s found a happy one! He came to us as part of a rescue where his owner had passed away, and at 10 years old, Tinker was very nervous of all the sudden change. He has since found a loving home with one of the other cats rescued – Boots. We’re hoping that these two will do really well in a loving family home.

Daisy was a Sharpie X Lurcher and at just under 2 years old found herself in “the system”. Having spend some time in a large rescue centre with barely enough exercise for even the most sedentary of dogs her future was looking bleak. Having bark a couple of dogs when they walked past her kennel she was deemed aggressive and was on the destruction list. In association with another rescue she found her way to safety with us and disproved everything that has previously been said about her. Within 24 hours of arrival she found herself on trial in a home with other dogs where she behaved impeccably and was soon adopted.
Boots was a lovely girl who came to us with one of her kittens. She was such a lovely girl – half a tail from a dog attack in no way lessened her affection and love for people. She has found herself a lovely new home and will live out her time in luxury.
Tom was a lovely boy who had come to us as part of a continuing rescue effort where several cats were left without a home after their owner tragically died. He was very nervous of the cattery environment and liked to keep himself to himself but sure enough he was picked out the crowd by a lovely lady who just loved him instantly and the feeling was mutual as Tom wanted to be stroked by her straight away even when he was in the cat box
Jack (black) and Betty (white and grey) were two young rabbits who came in separately, but instantly bonded when mixed with each other. They were both so friendly and easy to handle, they were never going to be here for very long! They’ve found a lovely home with another rabbit – we’re sure they’ll have a lovely time.
Sox was a gorgeous young boy who came to us as part of quite a large surrender after quite a traumatic set of circumstances. He was so happy to play and get cuddles, and wasn’t with us for very long until someone snapped him up quick! Our beautiful boy has found an excellent home, and will happily receive all the cuddles he so wants.
Sherman was a lovely boy who came to us after his owner was diagnosed as being terminally ill. Poor Sherman was feeling a little lost, but was so quick to trust everyone, we knew he wouldn’t be here long! And we’re pleased to report that Sherman’s gone to a loving new home, where he’ll be well looked after – very deserving for a dog as calm and gentle as him.

Pickles was a lovely boy that came into us as a stray and you could tell he had been a stray for some time with his war
wounds, weight and broken coat but that all changed when he came in to us and he fit in really well in the cattery environment and to our happiness he was in fact rehomed with Lyra and Roxy.
Roxie and Lyra were a beautiful pair of 12 year old cats who just loved affection and being stroked even though they had those grumpy faces. unfortunately they had to be rehomed because their owner could no long look after them, they have now found their forever home and they have taken a friend with them called Pickles.

This big boy is Fudge. Fudge was a Giant Rabbit who also had a personality of giant proportions. He loved a good cuddle and was an affectionate boy. This meant that he very quickly found his loving forever home.
Suzi (real name Bubu) came to us as a stray, or so we thought as she had no collar or microchip. After a few days it was obvious this was not the case, she wasn’t showing the normal traits of a stray cat. She was very affectionate and so playful. Not to much surprise she was actually just a lost cat and was reunited with her family who clearly missed her. Although a happy ending all this could of been avoided and she will now be micro chipped. We can’t stress enough how important it is to keep your pets safe.
Sarrison was only a youngster and at 10 months old had been through more than any dog should ever go through in a lifetime. This handsome Rottie cross came to us on what was meant to be a temporary basis, on behalf of another rescue, to get him out of a horrid situation fast. But with the progress that was made, and quickly, it was decided that he was to stay with us to be rehomed. Sarrison was very cheeky and liked to push his boundaries so we knew even with our training he needed to go to a loving home with boundaries put in place, a lovely older lady and her older son came along who have had rotties all their lives and instantly fell in love and knew exactly how to take his excitement and boundary pushing and he has now found his forever home getting the best of both worlds accompanying the son to work and relaxing at home with the Mother.
Pumpkin was one of those gorgeous ginger cats who you can’t help but want to smooch, and smooching we got. He was a little upset with his arrival but his owner was going into care and was unable to take him. Despite his handsome good looks it took a while for him to find his forever home. The summer had proved hard for rehoming. But we got there in the end.
Poppy arrived with a thump in her stride! She was not very good at being handed but within a few days we had gained her trust and this beautiful Lionhead was happy with a cuddle. She got the understanding home she needed.
When Dee came to us we could see she had been through some tough times. Each one of her ribs was visible and her hip bones protruding. With plenty of grub and lots of love a wonderfully affectionate cat soon appeared. We knew it would take time for her to find her forever home as the black cats are always overlooked. We got there in the end and we were so pleased to see this loving girl get the home she needed.
Benji, as we named him, came to us after wandering into someone’s home. He unfortunately took ill whilst he was with us and so a trip to the vets was necessary. Whereby it was discovered that Benji was terminally ill. The decision was made that it was not time to say goodbye, he needed some care and attention. We initially looked for a foster home for him to see out his final weeks but what we found was so much better. A local vet stepped up to the plate and took this boy on and he is thriving. We have been told he has very much stolen the resident cat’s catnip beaver and seems to be quite proud of himself. A truly happily ever after.
Bitsy arrived with us with her 3 kittens. Who we promptly named Teeny, Weeny and Tiny. Within a matter of hours of arrival these gorgeous family were rehomed. With Teeny and Weeny, the girls, going off to a loving home. And Bitsy and Tiny, pictured here, also finding their purrfect home.

We miss him but as so pleased that he has the happily ever after he deserves.
If anyone needed reassurance that “bull breeds” are wonderful dogs this was the dog for the job. Myli was on death row with nowhere to go and was facing the needle, we agreed to take him in and save this boy. There is always a limit on how many we can help but we were so pleased we were able to help him. He was such a loving boy, with a hug and sloppy kiss for everyone he met. He just wanted a home to call his own and that is what he has got.
Cooper arrived with us after he was rescued from being tied to a tree all day and restricted to a single room at night. We set about trying to find a fosterer and inadvertently found him a forever home. Nobody could resist his happy wagging tail and his bouncy nature. This boy has really landed on his paws.

So we started to us hand signals with him, if was a learning curve for us all. We knew we were going to have to find him a particularly special home that would take on a deaf dog and work with him. We managed this and we know that both Charlie and his new owners are very happy together and are doing well.

We were so pleased that these two found a home together.
Oscar had been living as a stray when he came into us and at 10 years old this seemed to have taken its toll on him. By the time he left us he was certainly looking a lot better than he does here. He was an incredibly affectionate boy and we are so pleased he found a loving home.
Nessa and Smithy were an instant hit with everyone as soon as they arrived and were bundles of fun to be around. Their owners had moved and were subsequently notified they could not keep their cats so it was a sad goodbye for them. These two did arrive with their mum but we wanted to rehome her separately to give her some peace and quiet. As you can see from the picture we received from their new owners these two have made themselves at home and most definitely rule the roost and the bed by the looks of things .
Fudge arrived with as she was not getting on with the dogs that lived in the house and had taken to living entirely outside. He owners decided this was no longer fair on her and she came into our warm cattery. She was a lovely girl and certainly enjoyed the soft warmth of indoor living. She was a little nervous to start but soon settled and found herself a loving home to go to.
Sydney came to us very underweight and scared of everything. We did some bonding work with this little chap and he was soon trusting us and his fantastic little personality came out. At just 1 year old the boy got the fresh start he needed and is part of a loving family where he will really, really happy.
Alfie was a handsome 3 year old Bengal who came to us as his owners were forced to moved to a 2nd floor flat and given that he is a boy that likes his outdoor time this was not going to be a suitable transition for him. Alfie has found a home where he will get to explore and play in a lovely garden and get the attention he adores.
Tibby (black and white) and Alice came to us after her owner could no longer cope with them due to her age and they could not stay in the family as they didn’t want them to live in a flat. These two girls found loving homes to go to, not together but that has meant little Alice has been able to come out of herself a bit more.
Harvey the cheeky Jack Russell came to us as his owner felt he needed more attention that he was getting due to their being a new baby in the family. Harvey loved to play with his ball and would spend hours attempting to get it in his mouth. Harvey found himself a home and we know he has been making friends in the park across the road from where he now lives.
This handsome bunny was found hopping around a busy round with cars swerving around him. He was clearly someone’s pet and was an affectionate pet. We attempted to locate his owner but with no luck so he went up for adoption under the name Brian. He found his forever home.
Twinkle was being looked after as a stray and came into us before the weather closed in and turned colder. She was a super pretty and sweet little thing and she soon found herself a loving home to go to.
Josh came in as a very sweet young chap. He had been living as a stray and the people who had been caring for him couldn’t take in permanently and wanted to find a solution before the weather got colder. He came into us and soon found a lovely home and he is doing fantastically.
Angel came into us after his owners were moving and they were unable to take him with them. At 11 years old the disruption of coming into the cattery did upset him for a while but he found himself a home and has gone to live with a lady who wanted a lap cat and that is what she got with Angel.
Lilo was a sweet little girl who came to us as a member of the family she was living with was diagnosed with an allergy. Everyone thought she was a kitten she was so little but at 5 years old was fully grown. Little Lilo found her forever home.
Rocky was a timid chap and we knew it would take someone special to take on this boy, along came one of our volunteers. This boy now lives in the lap, or should I say cat bed, of luxury. He is truly doted upon and has found his safe place.
August was a pretty little thing who spent far too long with us given how petit and sweet she was. She was an unassuming cat, not pushy or in your face and this seemed to work against her. After just over 2 months she found a home and she has settled well.
Max was a big ball of fluff with the smallest of meows who everyone who met him loved. He had been taken in by a kind lady when he had been living as a stray and had been living with her for a while when she had to go into sheltered accommodation. Having had her previous for a number of years unfortunately she was unable to take Max too so we were asked to take him in and find him a home. At 10 years old Max has gone to live with a vet nurse and has a canine companion who we have no doubt Max keeps in check.
Angel and Tilly came into us after their owner couldn’t cope with Mum and the kittens. They were very timid when they arrived but soon their cheeky personalities shone through. They were rehomed separately and Tilly can been seen below in his new home.
This was little Holly. She came into us after her owner passed away and was feeling a little lost. Our child tester soon set to work running round the garden playing with her, ending with some loving cuddles helping Holly feel more relaxed and at home (I can promise you that is a tired pant not an anxious pant). Holly found herself a home where she won’t have to feel lost again. Good girl Holly
Lily was a pretty girl with stunning markings, an oriental cross. She was not happy in her current home and oriental breed cats can get very anxious so came to us. We found her a quiet home where she would be able to have her own space and settle to allow her to thrive and live at her own pace.
Rainbow and Lola were a pretty pair of bunnies. Rainbow had a little white heart on her shoulder, enough to make anyone emit a gooey aarrrr! They were really timid when they arrived as their owner had given them up as they just didn’t have the time for the them. These two found a home together where they will get the time they need and deserve.
Darcy came into us after being found stuck in a fence. She was taken to the vets and it was found that she had no injuries and was in perfect health so we set about finding a home. This pretty little thing has a loving home now.
Little Bridget came into us after being mistreated. Thankfully she suffered no permanent physical or emotional trauma and was soon looking for cuddles and playing in the cattery. She found a home and is doing well.
Ging came to us after living as a stray. He had clearly been someone’s pet but with no microchip they were untraceable so he needed a new home. This picture was taken within a few hours of him arriving at his new home and as you can tell he wasn’t exactly a shy boy, managing to find the comfiest spot in the house from the outset.
When we were expecting Jasper we had been informed he was a Rottie cross so expected a stocky black and tan lad. Instead along came the silly bundle that was Jasper much more Lab than Rottie, not that we would have minded. He was good fun and was a pleasure to be around. He found himself a home where we know he had to don a Halloween outfit and we look forward to more pictures of Jasper to come.
This lovely Staffie is Missy. She was a smashing girl who found herself a lovely home where she does the school run every day and has a sofa to snuggle on when she wants. Her adoptive family were looking for a companion for the wife whilst her husband was on night shifts and Missy was perfect for this.
Coco is a Jack Russell cross Miniature Daschund with the personality the size of a Rottie. He had had a bit of a tough time and really needed somewhere to call home and someone to give him the time he needed. Well this cheeky chappy certainly found that and we know he is doing well.
This is Puma and Pepper (formerly know as Kat, Kit’s sister) in their new home. below are the picture taken of them when they were with us in the cattery. Sometimes cats that have no history together just bond and it works and this was a lovely example of this happening. Two lovely kitty cats have found a wonderful home.
Nutmeg and Dipsy were two very sweet bunnies whose owners didn’t have the time for them anymore and asked if we could rehome them. Like all good bunnies they played nicely with the chickens and found themselves a forever home that will give them to time they deserve and need.
Jill was a striking girl who was mostly grey but with a few ginger splodges on her. She was an affectionate girl and was a big hit in the cattery. She found a loving home where I know she demands as much attention as she can get and not surprisingly is given it.
Bella is an American Bull Dog cross Staffie and was a sweet little thing. She has had a tough start in life and was desperate to find her feet and feel like she belonged. At just 8 months old we knew this was not too much to ask and she soon found a home.
Kit came in with her sister Kat (I know we are not very inventive when it come to names). She was a lovely playful kitten and was tiny with it. She found her forever home where she will be spent her days as happy as can be, getting to sleep on her very own cushion
Lola is a beautiful German Shepherd cross Labrador and had a wonderful temperament and a gentle face. She had been found as a stray and was rescued from the pound when her 7 days were up. Within a matter of hours of this girl going onto Facebook she had found herself a home but to be fair who could resist that face!
Sooty and Fudge, no two guesses which is which, came to us after their cage mate was being mean to them. At just 6 months old they were quite timid but with plenty of handling were soon tame and found themselves a home.
Kodi was a big ball of fur and got plenty of cuddles whilst he was with us. He is a Malamute cross German Shepherd and his owners could not cope with him and he could not go back to the breeder so he arrived with us. We started the task of commencing his training, progress was good and rewarding for all parties and Kodi found himself a loving home.
This lovely cat came into us, we were informed she was a girl and we gave her the name Summer. Summer was a boy and now goes by the name Shadow and is now very happy in her new home.
This was an unusual case in that we acted as an intermediary to find this chap a new home. His owner no longer had the time for him and we knew of someone looking for dog just like Percy. So a meeting was set up and it really was love at first sight. He won their hearts and is doing really well in his new home.
Harriet and Lillian were two very sweet rabbit who were left behind when their owners moved. A local vet contacted us to see if we could help and these two had a fun time hopping around with the chickens before they found their forever homes.
Reggie was found wandering around the woods. The family who found him took him to the vets, he was checked for a chip and his owners contacted. His owners no longer wanted him, so he came to us. The family who had spent the time with him in the woods searching for his owners had fallen for this little chap and were on the phone to us asking if he was available for adoption, of course he was and this handsome boy landed firmly on all four paws with a lovely family.
Daisy came into us after being mistreated and was nervous of everything, especially men. Given that we are mainly a female led site this wasn’t a major issue but we knew we had to work on it as the big wide world was going to be a very scary place for her and her nerves came through as growling and snapping. Within a week we had her actively saying hello to strangers, including men, because she trusted us to keep her safe. We rehomed her with a family of adults who were happy to work with her and she gave their elderly Lab a new lease of life.
Jack is a fetching Bengal cross who had a face that would melt the coldest of hearts. He came in with a group of 3 other cats that we took in from New Hope Animal Rescue when they ran out of room and asked for our help. It didn’t surprise us that it wasn’t long before this handsome chap found a home.
Ivory was dumped at the back door of a vets and was only found as Ebony, probably her sister, had been dumped 3 days before and the vets now make a point of checking there daily. She was a loving girl with a kind heart and found herself the home she deserves.
Cherry arrived with us after having spent 5 weeks in the vets after being hit by a car. She had her jaw wired, amongst other things and saw human contact as threatening instead of the love we so desperately wanted to give her. She was micro-chipped but with the details being traced back to somewhere in the middle east tracing her owners was an impossible task. To begin with feeding time was a little scary but we respected her space and soon she was coming up to us and asking for affection. Cherry found herself a home although now goes by the name Sparky as she is still a bit of a live wire. A remarkable story that really touched us all.
A very pretty girl arrived with us when Loo Loo arrived although the way she got her name isn’t quite so pretty, yes she fell down the toilet as a very young kitten. This British Blue cross wasn’t coping well in a noisy household and so came into us so we could fine her a quiet one where she would be able to settle and be content. We achieved this and little Loo Loo is now doing well, even snuggling with her new canine pal.
Sam came to us after his owner could no longer afford to look after him and at 10 years old we thought we would really struggle to find this lad a home. He had the energy and personality of a much younger dog and before long he found himself a home with a friend of the rescue centre where we know he lives in the lap of luxury and will be spoilt rotten for the rest of his years.
This little chap was Rocky, he was given up as he owner no longer had the time he needed. He was very nervous when he arrived but soon found a companion in Hector a German Shepherd we had in at the time. This unlikely duo had a fab time together until they found themselves new homes. Rocky can be seen here as the lord of his very own lawn in his new home, not the nervous little lad that first arrived with us.
Robbie is a Husky cross Staffie and we soon found out home much of a character this breed mix led him to be. With his ability to walk for hours, his lightening straight line speed and his ability to jump like a kangaroo he soon has us all loving him. Well done handsome boy for finding your forever home.
Princess arrived with us with Buttons and were our Panto cats. She was all things regal loving nothing more than to sit on her bed and meow to us to let us know where she was. This pretty girl found her forever home where she is no doubt now the queen of her home.
Tye came into us and was an incredible boy to have with us. He was a big furry who loved his cuddles, his walks and made a huge impact on us and not just because of his size. Nelly and Biggie, a brother and sister, came to us after there owners could no longer look after them due to a home move. This characterful, playful pair of 6 month old kittens soon had us all in fits of giggles as they tried to climb the tree mural in the cattery and play with the broom. As you can see within a very short space of time these two have settled themselves in nicely. We are so pleased.
This is KD and HP, two very lovely, 1 year old Lurchers that came into us. They had been picked up as strays, not together, and ended up as kennel mates. KD helps to keep HP’s naughty side in check and they made a fantastic pair. We were unsure as to whether we would be able to home them together as not many people are able to take on two dogs, but as you can see we managed to. Within 10 minutes of us finishing the adoption forms these two had already settled themselves in very nicely. It was as if it was where they belonged.

Suprisingly someone has taken on this lovely pair to go and join their young guinea pig who was in need of some company. It lovely when things work out so well for our older residents.
Hachi came to us after his owners could no longer look after him as he didn’t get on with their new addition to the family. This is Bonkers. When she came to us she was so nervy we couldn’t handle her, she slowly got used to us then we discovered a litter of kits in her hutch, much to our surprise. This explained some of her behaviour and we started to make some headway with her. She has found herself a lovely home to go to where she is free to hop around the garden as much as she wants.
When Dotty the Patterdale joined us she was so skinny, having been a stray, she could fit through the bars of the kennels and escapes, emergency measures were put in place and lots of food provided to help her put on weight. This little dog had a huge appetite and it wasn’t long before she was no longer able to escape. We then had an unusual request, someone looking for a scruffy dog. Dotty fitted the bill perfectly and found herself her forever home.
This lovely lady was dumped at the back door of a vets and is very lucky to be with us. It is not a door the vets usual use and it was only because they were having maintenance on their X-ray machine that she was found. She had a wonderful personality and had one of the loudest purrs we have ever heard. We named her Ebony and it wasn’t long before she found herself a new home to go to.
As you can see from this picture when Ziva the Whippet came to us she was very underweight and had evidence of abuse on her body. But with the care and attention we give all the animals we get through our door we worked hard and this little lady put on weight nicely and it wasn’t long before one of our volunteers fell in love with her. We get weekly updates on her progress and she is doing so well. A really happy ending for a dog that really deserved it.

Hi, to all my friends at Treetops and a special whinny to my best friend Beauty. I hope I find you all well. I am finding my feet and couldn’t wait to start eating all my new grass and meeting my new family which consists of two teens who I have really taken too but at 20 I do think they are noisy. My new mum says they have special needs so I have decided to be gentle with them. The younger one got on and nearly fell of the other side
but I stood rock steady so he could sit up and Mum walked us round, I was good as gold and the next time he got on he didn’t tip forward so I have faith we will be fine. I have been out with my new Mum a number of times and we have lunged as well which was fun and I got a little excited. I am training my new Mum to what I like and dislike and how she needs to use her voice, I am missing my old Mum, Beauty and the Shetlands and will remember them with fondness. I am talking to all my new friends. I have walked out with Folly and Snowflake, Jasmine, Wilma, Angel and Shy are always nearby and are really friendly. I want to say a big thank you to Susie, Kelly, Sam and all the animals for being there when we needed them they do a fantastic job and tell Beauty she will find a new home soon and be as happy as my new family and me. I have told my new Mum to take some photos and send them with this letter and can you believe it a new red turnout rug came just in time for all this windy weather Mum says Father Christmas came a little early for me this year as I needed it now so I am all snug and warm . I will let you all know how we are getting on. Training Mum is time consuming but worth it, she has taken to giving me a nice small feed morning and night it must be working. Take care everyone, Merry Christmas. Love my new Family and me, Chip! xx
